“ Chrysochroa buqueti rugicollis ”

This is a Chrysochroa buqueti rugicollis, also known as the red speckled jewel beetle, found in southeast Asia. They grow to be about 50mm in length. I shot it at f/5.6, with the focus being on the eye. I think it would have looked better with the entire beetle in focus, but alas, that wasn't ...
