“ Dead Shoes ”

These are a pair of my daughter's dead pointe shoes--too broken in to wear safely. The costume behind them is one of my favorites of hers, one she wore when she was 12, a turning point year for her in a lot of ways. I enjoy this color combination as well as the symbolism of her growth.
