I liked the color of the oranges with a monochrome background

I too like that monochromatic background. The brown tones all blend together and the oranges really pop in that scene. A small bit of fill light from a flash… more

A small bit of fill light from a flash might have made this stronger - the shadows are nice but maybe a bit of additional highlight would have given it something more? In any case it was a well thought out shot. PS - I'm in your mini-group.
