“ Silent Steelworks ”

This is South Gare, Teesside, UK. The shot's inspired by an image by Paul Mitchell, which won an award in the Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2015 - back then Redcar steelworks were in production, and the pollution made for an amazing backdrop to these fishermen's huts...

Beautifully composed. The clouds work particularly well. Very evocative of that part of England, which I know a little.

A wonderful homage to the original image, Graeme. I really like the moody motion blur you have captured in the sky contrasted by the solid still structures of the huts and steelworks in a silent landscape. I think that the ‘silence’ of the furnaces and the resulting lack of smoke in your picture tells a fabulous follow-up story to the original. Excellent work
