“ Mantis Ootheca ”
The female praying mantis produces a fluid that is mixed with air bubbles to make a protective, paper case to hold the egg clusters until the mantis nymphs hatch. This case is called an ootheca.

I noticed this ootheca attached to the bricks near my front doorway.

    It certainly got my attention, I just wonder whether a different depth of field may have enhanced it by bringing it all. In focus and enhancing the texture.
