“ Strawberry Shortcake Cup ”

Strawberries are in season here in South Carolina and they are super sweet this year. We picked up a basket of strawberries and had to make strawberry shortcake. This little parfait is a mix of pieces of poundcake, cut strawberries and cool whip . . . Yum!

There are a few food subjects in my 22 critiques this week, but this is the most colourful and appealing one. Great choice of DOF, and I love the lead in from the bottom right, with those bright red strawberries grabbing your eye, then flowing back to your creations. Colours, details and textures are all very pleasing to the eye and you did amazingly well working with glass not to get major reflections.
