“ The King ”

Wrapped a black paper around my flash to form a snoot and held it at an angle behind the king (camera left). Camera settings were set so that without the flash, the picture would have been black. The flash was then set bright enough, just to light the king and cast a shadow. I added a vignette ...

I love the diagonal composition of the checkered board. The Ray of light illuminates the chess piece sublimely.
