“ Catkins! ”
I had a few to choose from this week but, after re-reading the brief, I think this one fits best; I like my alternate (in comments) but, I prefered the simplicity of this one, in the end.

I decided, on a whim, to explore a little local nature park that I hadn't really visited properly ...

When I moved back to the UK, I found it difficult to find some photography buddies, until i joined the U3A (everyone my age is working, unlike Malaysia where 'trailing spouses' were not allowed to work).  I met Julie at my second meeting where I mentioned 52 Frames when discussing the photos I'd submitted.

I was delighted when she asked me to tell her more, signed up that same day, then arranged to meet me to complete that week's challenge!  This was our second get-together where we were looking for triangles.  I considered submitting this one but, ultimately decided it was a bit too busy in the background compared with my final choice.

Welcome to 52 Frames, Julie :-)

This image has some nice texture in the flower and the mottled background.  Nice use of depth of field and a couple of nice leading lines.  It is well lit.  I think I'd try a touch more contrast and I might crop it a little bit higher (the white of the flower stem leads off the frame and I think it might be nice to see that entire intersection).  Overall, however, I quite like this.

Perfect for the challenge. It really has the feeling of spring.
