    Having being married to, a now retired ADO, Firefighter for over 40 years who I met during his basic training back in 1975, I can honestly say it is an extremely rewarding career and yes you will spend many a night worrying for their safety - they are a special breed of individuals and they develop a special bond - I wish him all the best in his chosen profession - btw great image really shows the hi-viz essential in smoke filled buildings and working roadside late at night

    Great portrait and lighting. Not surprised you're both proud and worried, I'd be exactly the same! Perhaps the inclusion of some fire-fighter's gear might enhance the shot - a hose, an axe, breathing gear, I'm not sure what they carry, but sure you'll know what I mean. Good luck to him, a bit of a hero already in my book.
