“ Milk and Cookies ”
This was my first time doing high speed photography. I learned a lot and had a great time. This was done outside in the afternoon because I don't have an external flash or lighting equipment. Special thanks to all of the oreos that sacrificed themselves for me to get the perfect shot and to my ...

Excellent result for a first time try. it seems as if the focus is on the top splash of milk. The oreo and foreground milk are soft. you might have overcome this by shooting at f10 which would not have given such a tight DOF. This of course would have to be increased to allow the same shutter speed.

What really caught my eye were those amazing shadows , another project idea? Not sure if this may be of interest. I use a chopstick to lie over the water and Live View to get the focus on that stick , gives guaranteed sharp focus if you have the control to drop water in the same spot which is done with a ladder over the water so you can suspend the water bag or dropper. The in camera flash should be enough for most of these shots if you dial the amount of the flash to the circumstances, if you cannot change the intensity then change the F stop till you get the right balance. Then of course 100 or more shots checking for water splashes on the lens till you are happy.

Milk and cookies! Awesome! I really like the splash you were able to capture. I wish the oreo was more in focus though. You would be able to get more in focus if you bump f-stop to f/11 or f/13. You might have to raise the ISO to 400 to compensate for the lack of light. The lighting and the colours make this a very fun image! Great idea to use the milk. Nice!

I love this, Jessica! Great concept of milk and cookies! The background color is very pleasing. Like others commented, perhaps a vertical shot of this to include the whole splash may have worked better. The splash that you captured is amazing with the overflow coming down over the rim of the glass. Great job especially for your first time!
