“ All quiet in the nest ”

Waiting patiently for Mum to return, these baby Blackbirds we just discovered a few days ago. Mother Blackbird has set up home in the centre of a tree fern that is just outside our window.
We were a little surprised that she had been coming and going and hadn't noticed the nest before.

How special is that! We had one in our lemon tree when we moved in but have not seen it since. The nest never got rebuilt. I guess because we have a… more
