“ Harakeke ”
New Zealand flax (phormium tenax) grows to over two metres and is perfect for screening and wind protection in gardens such as ours, right in the teeth of the NE winds off the sea.

They also produce amazing shapes and lines, and I liked the light effects from shooting into the sun.

    Very nice photo, Andy. Good choice of subject. Saw a very nice painting of light through flax in the New Plymouth art gallery ages ago. Nearly as good as your photo.
