“ Tinfoil background ”
The "new technique" I tried was using crumpled up and straightened out tin foil as a background in an attempt for a bokeh background. If I try this again, I will crumple the foil more tightly for more surfaces to reflect light. The Santa ornament is from my father's childhood, so it is around ...

    I like Santa. I’ve used tin foil before for bokeh but wasn’t happy with the results. Might have to try again. Nice bokeh and composition but it’s a bit dark, perhaps light directed on Santa would help?

    Great idea to try the foil.  Using a green foil (I think I have seen that, haven't I?) might compliment the theme of the ornament.  Or use the candy wrappers!… more
