“ The Great Debate ”

We all grew up drinking from plastic straws. Now, it may be headed to a thing of the past. I completely understand the reasoning but for me personally, I hate drinking from paper or metal straws. I'll do it if it helps the planet but I'm not a fan of the alternatives.

This is a cool shot, Marion. The lighting is excellent. I love that the glass is totally transparent except for the rim; which emulates a smile (and made me smile). The randomness of the straws is also interesting.

maybe just re-use the plastic ones and then slit them up the side before tossing them? that makes *me* feel a bit better about them when they end up at our house ..… more

I totally agree! And while I'm all in favor of reducing the amount of plastic in our world, straws would not be my first choice! Very nice image Marion. Your focus is tack sharp and the colors and arrangement of the straws make it interesting. I kind of like Dan's idea of a milkshake in the glass...or better yet, drinking the milkshake while taking the photo!!!
