    Thank you, Mikko. I really appreciate the critique. As I was editing the photo, I realized my background was less than optimal and that's why I went with black and white. I'm still learning and don't always look at the background when framing my photos. It's definitely something I need to work on more and your comment about having light on the dark side of the face is a good one. I'll endeavor to pay more attention. Thanks again!

    Great contrasts in the photo! One thing to try could be to change your position so that you get dark background on the lighter side of the face and vice versa, although this one works as well! The photo is weighted on the right with the head tilt, but the large white area on the opposite side balances it nicely :) Statues are difficult to photograph interestingly but very good job on this one!
