Friendly message! Hey, first of all, we appreciate the effort of your submission this week. We're trying to raise awareness in the community about submitting a photo of someone else's "copyright".

We're not saying that THIS photo is problematic, but we have made it a point to leave this note on all photos where the main subject is a statue, sculpture, graffiti, etc.. We are trying to inform as many people as possible that there CAN be an issue with submitting "other" people's art, such as photos, signs, sculptures, paintings, graffiti, a TV show, a screenshot from the internet, etc.. These copyright issue range from at worst, being illegal to post as your own work, to at best, simply submitting a photo that is perhaps not your own original idea or concept.

It is good practice in general, to incorporate some form of "context" into your image, rather than just the copyrighted subject itself. For example, you may take a photo of a painting, graffiti, or even a computer screen, if you incorporate some context into the frame such as a person interacting with a sculpture, a person or thing next to a sign, or someone sitting in front of the computer.

Thank you for allowing us to help spread this message and for your understanding :) Happy shooting.
