“ Cottonwood Twigs ”

My daughter and I were taking walks over the holiday and collected some cottonwood branchec. In the center of the stem there are five points. The star is actually the pith of the plant, which transports nutrients to twigs and leaf buds. This star shape is common to trees of the willow family, ...

I had no idea cottonwoods had that star design! How awesome! I like color palette- very muted and soothing to my eye! Great use of the rule of odds!

Amazing how the stars find their way into the very hearts of the cottonwood branches. Love this close up and the legends. We are, after all, made of star… more
