    It turned out well.   Sometimes weather just doesn't cooperate with us though. Nicely framed photo!  I've yet to attempt one of these.

    Great attempt, Devon! I really like the colors and the distinct separation between the water and sky. This looks like the perfect location for what you were trying to do. Having an decent ND filter would definitely help in this situation and weighting down the tripod helps in the wind. My camera has a built-in ND filter which is used for the challenge, but not nearly strong enough for the time of day I was shooting. These look like perfect conditions for using one. You certainly got some smoothness to the water and the leading lines on either side are awesome as well. Hopefully you can give it another shot someday!

    I wouldn't call this a failed attempt. It might not have achieved what you were hoping for, but it's still a great shot. Wind is always tricky to work with and I think you did a great job. It has a real dreamlike quality to it that feels cinematic.
